About Us

Our Mission to Sail Green

Offset Every Teak Deck and Voyage Emission

Growing Decks is leading the way for sustainable yachting. We calculate your teak usage and voyage emissions, then take action: planting teak trees in Tanzania to replace what's used on your deck, and offset your carbon footprint with a project that supports both people and the planet.

NURTURE NATURE AND UPLIFT LIVES

Your Growing Decks subscription helps heal the planet and support communities. We plant teak trees in Tanzania to bring life back to damaged landscapes and protect Malawi's forests through our partnership with Ripple Africa’s cookstove project. Together we're ensuring every journey leaves a lasting, positive impact.

Why Growing Decks?

Redefining Yachting At Growing Decks

We're transforming yachting by prioritising sustainability over profit. We offset teak deck usage with trees planted in Tanzania and offset voyage emissions with certified projects in Malawi that reduce wood use thus protecting forests - making luxury yachting a sustainable force for good.

Empower Luxury with Sustainability

We equip yacht owners to sail with purpose. Our tools assess your teak usage and emissions, then channel those insights into action - planting teak trees in Tanzania and helping communities in Malawi to protect forests by using fuel-efficient cookstoves, merging luxury with eco-conscious travel.

Building a Greener Future

We measure your yacht's teak consumption and carbon footprint, turning each voyage into a force for good. By supporting environmental projects in Tanzania and Malawi we help combat climate change by merging luxury with eco-conscious travel.

Our story

Building a Greener Yachting Future

At the core of this eco-conscious initiative are three dedicated yachting enthusiasts enhancing the yachting community’s sustainability. Cailyn, author of One to Two Bees and a Farmer, educates children on bees’ role in pollinating crops and preserving the environment, while also bringing her passion for yachting to inspire sustainable practices on the water. Justin, her husband and co-founder, draws on his farming roots, supported by his father in Tanzania, for their tree-planting mission. Michael, a skilled engineer, loves yachts but worries about fuel use and questionable teak origins in construction. Registered in Dubai yet rooted in Tanzania, the idea began on Justin and Cailyn’s honeymoon, strengthened by Michael two years later. Together, they offset teak use, preserving oceans and lowering your carbon footprint through innovative offsetting initiatives in Malawi that support both communities and the environment, paving the way for a more sustainable future.
